CHRISTMAS PARTY

Kineton Art Group's Annual Christmas Party was held on Saturday, 10th December at the Wroxton Hotel, near Banbury. Nearly 40 members and guests enjoyed an excellent lunch over the course of a pleasant afternoon. Our President, John Lines, congratulated the members on their enthusiasm over the past year and encouraged everyone to carry on working hard at their painting ready for the next exhibition in May. The draw was made for the award of our three annual bursaries and the winners were Joan Davis, Dudley Smart and Tony Bright.

KINETON ART GROUP EXHIBITION OCTOBER 2011

Once again the Kineton Art Exhibition was a great success. Some 250 paintings were shown, the largest being almost a metre in size and the smallest under ten centimetres. Sales were good also and this can only be because of the wonderful number of visitors that came to view, listen to the pianist and have tea. We thank them all for their support.
The visitor’s favourite picture was Compton Verney by Ann Bean followed very closely by Diane Anderson's Awash in San Gimignano.

KINETON ART GROUP OPEN EXHIBITION MAY 2011

Nearly 200 paintings were on display at Kineton Art Group’s Open Exhibition held the weekend of the 7th and 8th May. Despite the heavy rain on Saturday morning, interest in the exhibition was not dampened and a steady flow of visitors was maintained throughout both days. Many of our visitors commented on the quality and variety of the work on display whilst also congratulating the organisers for providing the excellent refreshments (especially the home made cakes) which were accompanied by the gentle piano playing of Ted Humphries.
As usual, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite painting and the largest number of votes went to Rosemary Sylvester for her painting, “Calm Waters”.
