KAG Celebrates 30 Years!

On Saturday 14th April 2018, Kineton Art Group celebrated its 30th Anniversary.

In 1988, as described in the 'About Us' section of our website, Kineton Art Group was founded by a group of ladies including: Rosalie Jordan, Peggy Shiner, Val Bean, and Lyn Rayner.

The group oficially fully formed in 1988, going from meet-ups between friends to larger meetings in the village hall with a growing number of members. This year we celebrated that 30 year journey, becoming the legacy that it now is: 69 members, providing regular demonstrations and workshops, and organising two local exhibitions every year.

As part of the celebration, KAG members worked together to create a piece of artwork that would be special to the community as well as the artists. Members Sarah Miles and Kathryn Wickson chose an image of Kineton that would be recognisable to any residents for the artists to replicate. Below is an image of the final artwork, or you can see it at Kineton Village Hall.

KAG members celebrated at their party with a 30th Anniversary cake, speeches including a little history on KAG delivered by Lyn Rayner, a talk by Director of Compton Verney: Steven Parrisien, and a fun quiz.
