Members: Ann Bean

It is our aim to show here examples of individual members' work, which is as varied and original as they are.

The paintings shown above are by Ann Bean who was encouraged by her mother-in-law, Val [who was already a member of Kineton Art Group], to apply to join so Ann became a member of Kineton Art Group just over twelve months ago.

Ann says that she is a self-taught artist who has always enjoyed drawing and painting and while there was not so much time while her children were younger she still found time to work on the occasional commission, some of which were published in the local fete brochure.

Shortly after joining Kineton Art Group, one of our members introduced her to Nick Baldwin, a well-established local artist. Since then, Ann has been attending regular art classes held by Nick where she has received guidance and encouragement in a variety of art techniques.

Ann exhibits her work twice-yearly in Kineton Art Group’s exhibitions and also in exhibitions held by Nick Baldwin featuring both his own work and that of his students. Ann has sold paintings at these exhibitions and is delighted to say that one of them has gone to Australia so will be admired “down under”!

Recently Ann has been accepted as a member of the Fellowship of Professional & Amateur Artists and two of her paintings were shown in the FAAA’s exhibition at Wellingborough Museum held on the 6th to the 14th November.

Ann works mainly in acrylics, although she has worked on commission in other media including watercolours, pen and wash, tinted graphite and pencil sketches.

Ann is willing to work on commission and can contacted either by e.mail or telephone – details below.
